Sport vereint.
Meerleben e.V. - A committed organisation for hope and joie de vivre
Meerleben e.V. is a non-profit organisation that has dedicated itself for years to promoting and supporting children and young people in challenging life situations. The organisation is particularly dedicated to young people who are confronted with serious physical, psychological or social impairments, such as cancer. Meerleben e.V. focuses on innovative therapeutic approaches that go far beyond traditional treatment methods.
A special feature of the organisation is the use of sports therapy and experiential education measures. Among other things, surf therapy plays a central role, in which movement on the water not only promotes physical strength, but also strengthens the self-confidence and courage of the participants in the long term. Creative and varied programmes provide young people with a space in which they can overcome their personal challenges and recharge their batteries.
Donations for a good cause
This year’s Syltlauf was not just a sporting success for MeerLeben e.V.. The eight-strong relay team improved on its time from the previous year, finishing in 3:13 hours after 34.5 kilometres from List to Hörnum. Above all, however, the event was a strong sign of solidarity: more than €1,000 in donations were collected, which went in equal parts to the “Wir für Carlotta” campaign and the MeerLeben e.V. projects – a benefit that extends far beyond the run.
